hi

I'm very very new to Inkscape.
I'm trying to draw lines using either the pen tool or the calligraphy tool (i try and do one continuous line) and I want to weld it inside a shape, but each time i do this i just get the shape come to the front and the welding looks like its behind
can anyone help please.
i've looked at tutorials on line, but none of them show what I'm trying to do.

I don't understand what you mean. Can you show a screenshot, or give us your SVG file? Or find some way to illustrate the problem. In addition to showing the problem, show us what you want to happen too.

Also, "weld" isn't part of the Inkscape terminology, so I can't guess which buttons or commands you used. Can you also tell us step by step what you did?
