I wanted to report a bug, so looked on the Inkscape website for how to do it and found this http://inkscape.org/report_bugs.php?lang=en
I want to use the third option for reporting the bug but can't figure out how to use gdb or what mingw (http://www.mingw.org) is or how to install/use it. I'm using Windows XP
Any help is appreciated!

Re: Reporting a bug
You can find the instructions for win on the download page for win development builds http://inkscape.modevia.com/win32/
you need to download the full dbg version I guess, I'm a bit confused to see the file so big, they were a bit smaller when I was on windows.
Anyway to get a backtrace after a crash you need to run Inkscape from gdb, and not the usual way by clicking on the icon. To get the console window go to Start > Run and enter cmd in there.
