Metrixs in inkscape

Postby GBunge » Mon Nov 03, 2008 7:55 pm

Hi all,
last day I run in a problem with my "inkspace" vers. 0.43.
On the menu I have activated for all metrix millimeter.
If I try to paint a rectangle 26mm x 10mm and I will print it,
the outline on paper is 31,5mm x 13mm.
How can I do it fine?

Check to see if your rectangle has a stroke. If so, try removing the stroke. Does that solve your problem?

Hi brynn,
first excuse me my horrible english.
To the problem,
do you mean "stroke" is the cornermarker when I select the rectangle?
There is no stroke and the rectangle is´nt selected, when I print the drawing.

Maybe we can bypass the language/translation issue by using an image:

Image

This rectangle has a blue Fill and a black Stroke. If you have the fill and stroke the same color, it might not be obvious that there is a stroke. You can access settings for these things in the Fill and Stroke dialog (Object menu > Fill and Stroke).

This rectangle is 72 mm x 46 mm. If I remove the stroke, which is 1.5 mm, the rectangle is 70.5 mm x 44.5 mm.

If this is not your problem, then I would suspect there is an issue with printing, and I'm sorry to say that I don't know how to solve such a problem. But probably other members here will be able to. But 1st, check for a stroke on your rectangle.

Hi brynn,
I think, with the stroke, I have miss understood you,
My rectangle has a stroke, but the outline on printed rectangele
is a bit bigger then only the stroke.
On screen the rectangle is 26.0 mm by 10.0 mm.
On paper the rectangle is 31.5 mm by 13.0 mm.
Both are more then the stroke.

With CorelDaw on a Window-System on the same PC and Printer
the outline on screen and paper are the same.

I will test my printer sofware. By
