I proudly present my last work in inkscape .
The portraits were made in inkscape 0.46 with a lot of blurs, to create warm and relaxing atmosphere. Of cause I used a photo for reference, but without any tracing.
This is a birthday present for my wife and our best friend. Since the picture is pure SVG, there is no problem to print it at any resolution/any size (as you know), so I printed it on canvas 40x60 cm at 300 dpi.
The first portrait I managed to complete in ~8 hours (it was my first portrait in inkscape), but the second one took only 1.5-2 hours!!!
You know, practice… .
The birthday gift!!!
Re: The birthday gift!!!
Only 2 hours for the second one? That's impressive. It's great work. I love the colouring and use of blur.
Some criticism is that the eyes on the left woman seem to be looking a little too much to the left.

Thanks a lot.
You are right about the issues with the eyes ... let me think...ah, the left woman is a bit closer
actually it's already printed , so I can't change it, but thanks for the comment !

Wow, that is impressive! Even if you spent 3 hours on the second one I would still be impressed!
Very good work! I still have yet to really venture into the real life portrait world in Inkscape. I tried once, but got discouraged from the results. Maybe next time lol..

I want to give the portrait to my granny on her 85th birthday on the day of Christmas so can anyone have knowledge about best portrait.

Seems so.
@remo123:
General note, it is better starting a new topic from scratch than reviving some topic from almost a decade ago.
Portrait drawing needs drawing skills and a good reference image. Inkscape won't give you a top-notch drawing by a few clicks. Depending on the detail level for someone familiar with inkscape and portrait drawing it can take some hours at least to make a half decent image. Best portrait? Days, a week... depending on the artistic merit (Mona Lisa is not a finished portrait either).
I'm afraid we can't really help you with a "best portrait" project on such a short shedule even as we have the knowledge.
