Hi all,
I'm putting together a presentation using Inkscape by creating drawings as svgs and then importing them into one big svg (all inkscape) when I'm done. Each import has its own individual layer. The odd thing is that when I go to view the diagram in the browser, certain parts are left out. I am using the sozi plugin, but even without the individual frames, if I zoom out, there are certain pieces that simply don't show up in the browser. I can't figure out any commonality between them. Any thoughts?
Thanks in advance

Re: Gr aphics not rendering in browser
Welcome to InkscapeForum!
I'm not familiar with that plug-in. But if any of the document is flowed text, it won't show up (see recent topic viewtopic.php?f=5&t=12601). Or the other thing I'm thinking, if any of the graphics fall outside the page border, it's possible they won't be displayed. Also, not all browsers can display all SVG images. So it's possible the missing images have some SVG element that the browser doesn't support.
If you could show us the SVG file, we can investigate

Re: Gr aphics not rendering in browser
Hi Brynn, thanks for the response and enthusiastic welcome. (Like the name by the way; the only other Brynn I've ever met is my sister)
Anyway, regarding the Inkscape stuff: The file that I'm working on is nearly 20 mb so I can't really post it (maybe the sheer size of it has something to do with its glitchyness). However, I cropped it down to show an example of a couple problem graphics that aren't showing up in the browser. (download the file from the following link: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/11993667/example.svg) All graphics should show up when looking at it in inkscape but only a couple show up when looking at it in a browser.
The situation above uses the Sozi extension (check it out here: http://sozi.baierouge.fr/wiki/en:welcome). However my problem does not appear to be unique to svgs involving Sozi. here's an example of an svg where no sozi has been used; in this case one of the white lines that are visible in inkscape is (from my perspective) inexplicably missing in the browser: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/11993667/example2.svg
Anyway, this situation is really baffling me. For a little more context, I'm using 64 bit Ubuntu 12.04.
Thanks again,

Wow, that's rather exciting! In my whole life, I've only met one other brynn, although she spelled it "Bryn".
Anyway, I'm gonna to have to pass this on to someone else. I don't know if a browser should have a limit as to the size of image it displays. I would think not.
I see the black rectangle in layer Darkness, is huge -- nearly 18 x 20 FEET, but is clipped by a smaller rectangle. I was going to suggest removing the clip and just reducing the dimensions of the rectangle. I have no idea if it would help, but it seemed like a reasonable step to take. And I say seemed, because after further investigation, there are things in this file that I don't understand. There's another smaller black rectangle (which I can only see by reducing the opacity of the huge one)....or not necessarily black I guess. But I can't select it. It appears and disappears when I unhide and hide layer Entrepreneur, leading me to think it's in that layer. But it also disappears when I hide the Blackness layer. There are some white objects on top of it, but when I try to move one of them outide the unselectable black rectangle, it causes the unselectable black rectangle to become larger. So I suggest doing nothing until someone who understands this file can join the discussion!
I'm posting a screenshot of what I see in Firefox, in case a comparison to other browsers might be helpful.
I'm sorry I can't be more helpful. This is way over my head
