not a 100% though, the curly part is from png.
although slicing is not by me but built in tool for web slicing would be cool.
and the next problem is when the slicer ask for the source file. He never use Inkscape and insist getting .psd or .ai
Layout that made using Inkscape
Re: Layout that made using Inkscape
I thought I read somewhere that slicing might be coming that uses guides to indicate where each slice should occur.
Unfortunatel, PSD and AI are industry standards. Although, if he only intends to slice the image rather than edit the image, then I don't see why he can't work with the PNG.

for slicing, you may be able to duplicate the whole thing, then use clip paths to "slice" your image into seperate peices, group it together, then use the Effects>Export>Groups to PNG.
just thinking out loud.

The Linux version of The Gimp comes with PySlice that works with the guidelines. Perhaps they will include something similar. You could save the layout as a .PNG and use Gimp to slice it. There are ways in the Windows version as well.

i can understand why he can't work with PNG. i, myself would rather slicing image with layering option. it would give a better option in separating text, real image and the background image.
unless, Inkscape PNG output can preserve layers like Fireworks (but only compatible within fireworks T_T ) and editable in other standard software.

i know that but i don't like the result, maybe i didn't do it right.

Thanks for the info. I'm also aware of that option just have had the chance to try them out.

Yeah, I can understand that also. Unfortunately, if you choose to use Inkscape you are making his life difficult.
There are some alternatives that may work for you though. You could save your drawing as EPS. This could be edited in Illustrator, but you may loose some effects. Or, you could export each layer as a PNG that could be assembled in Photoshop, allowing the slicer to turn each layer on and off as needed.

If you didn't set a grid of 1px your slices may have been a fraction of a pixel which would create problems.

atm when i was making that layout my comp is being repair. i had to borrow a laptop and it was ubuntustudio box. so i made it using inkscape..
then again, maybe i did intentionally - since this guy company, when ever they ask me to do a slicing always giving me a flatten psd and using urgent email subject on making web layout ( like there's no tomorrow).
