I'm attempting to create a "book front cover" that meets all the requirements of Lulu.com.
Lulu requires that the cover image be 1838 x 2775 pixels and a minimum of 300 dpi. When I try to export the inkscape file as a png with dimensions of 1838 x 2775, inkscape automatically lowers the dpi to 90. Then when I manually change the dpi back up to 300 dpi, inkscape automatically raises the dimensions of the bitmap to 6127 x 9250. So apparently, inkscape cannot create a Lulu compliant book cover image.
1) Does anyone know of a work-around within the inkscape options somewhere that makes an export image of 1838 x 2775 300 dpi possible?
2) Is there perhaps a different open source windows software program that can take that huge 6127 x 9250 pixels 300 dpi png and compact it into a perfect 1838 x 2775 300 dpi png that would satisfy Lulu's requirements?
Thank you

Re: problem exporting high quality images
You just have to use a little math
Your drawing in Inkscape must be 551,4x832,5 px so when you export it at 300dpi the size of the .png file will be 1838x2775px.
the formula I used was a=1838*90/300=551,4
