I haven't worked through the tutorial yet. But I have a question and maybe suggestion. Are you planning to make Inkscape tutorials only for images where identical results can be obtained using Inkscape (instead of the original tutorial's software)? If there would ever be a case where Inkscape cannot produce identical results (whether better or worse) I think it would be helpful to show both results, side by side. Then folks won't be too surprised when they're finished.

No I want to make tutorial for me to learn (^^) and share what I have found. Starting from existing one was an idea to show could do same thing as with Illustrator or Photoshop.

It seams to me that you`re of the brave ones, so I have a suggestion for you. In some of the previous topics "fredep57" tried to reproduce chevy logo from an Illustrator tutorial. Perhaps you would find it intriguing enough, since we haven`t seen it done (a side of my example, which should have been recognized as encouragement but it wasn't).

Yeah, that chevy logo image wouldl be a great way to teach many basic Inkscape techniques, and even a few not so basic.
