Hi Friends,
I guess I'm ready to call this one finished.
It started out when I was playing around with another spirogram. When I changed the fill rule and added a tan color, it reminded me of a sand dollar. So then I thought a starfish should be within my abilities to create, and I like how it turned out. Then I only needed one more item to balance out an image, and settled on the shell. I do think it's the weakest image of the 3...but it's ok, I guess.
Anyway, comments are invited and welcomed
All best,
Brynn

Re: Beach Treasures
gooooooood ... you should put more details to the background (the sea).
i have a question, the colour of the starfish like a picture of sand, or there is something to do this colour in Inkscape?!

Re: Beach Treasures
Nice! How did you create the texture on the starfish? Is it a bitmap texture?
Every Inkscape work of mine is an experiment.
Re: Beach Treasures
Yes bwansy and Alexandra, I used the Sand pattern from the Fill/Stroke dialog, to represent the bumpy texture of a starfish. The color is several layers of plain flat color, with the edges blurred, but the texture is the bitmap pattern.
The background isn't supposed to be the sea. It's just a gradient with colors that remind me of the sea. I thought of making the background look like a beach, only real pale, but not sure I have the skills for that.
Anyway, thanks for your comments. I really appreciate it

Re: Beach Treasures
I love the starfish and the shell, but, uhm..... there is a background? It looks plain white to me.

It's a very pale green out to very pale blue radial gradient. Maybe it's too subtle to show through your colorblindness....or do I have you confused with someone else?
