I have a path that I want to split. I want to do something like this:

Use the node editor tool.
Click on the path to select it with it, then double click on the path segment where you want to add the new endpoints.
After that, select the two points next to eachother that you want to disconnect, and
click on the unconnect selected icon at the node editor tool's icons.
