sh: python: command not found

Postby droope » Sat Aug 09, 2008 11:20 am

Hi, sorry to disturb the peaceful inkskape forum. :ugeek:

I have a problem with inkscape, :( and it is that I can't use tools such as

Efects>> generate from path >> Pattern along path

Without getting the following error:

sh: python: command not found
:?

¿ :o Perhaps there is a way of solving it?

Thanks,
droope

I'm not sure what the problem could be. But someone who knows more than me might like to know what operating system you are using.

Note that that Pattern Along Path effect has kinda been made redundant by Live Path Effect - http://tavmjong.free.fr/INKSCAPE/MANUAL ... fects.html

Inkscape comes with Python (or as much of it as it needs), so he shouldn't need to install it manually. Try re-downloading Inkscape and make a fresh install. If that doesn't work (and you tried installing python manually) it might be your operating system.
