Ring around a word?

Postby Gabriel » Wed Jan 09, 2008 5:14 pm

Can I set a ring around a word? I mean "3D", so the backside of the ring shall appear among the letters and the frontsize before them.

Will you provide an example of what you are referring to?

Sure, just make two objects, one for the frontside of the ring and one for the backside. Then put the backside object below the letters. You can't have one object that is both above and below another, so it'll have to be done with two or more making up the ring.

I tell you promptly, that this is not my idea. This is not a project I will be proud of. :| My friend want have a logo for his company in this style. I don't beleive it will be nice, but I want to show him that it is a wrong idea... Anyway, I try to make this according to his drawing.
I have the rest of the yellow filling as 2 yellow strings. How can I take them away or make the whole ring without them? Is it possible to make the ring without filling and fill between the ovals afterward?
Image
Another question: can I put a word between the ovals in the front, following the ringform? I shall make the ring broader and put a word with 10 letters between.
Edit
Ps. I hope, nobody misunderstand my negative message. I appreciate the help and I am glad that I learn tricks. I make several proposals for my friend.
