I need to do some technical drawing for a work. Normally I would use a CAD but I'm currently on Linux and I have no time to test and find a new CAD application other than Solidworks/Catia which are Windows only applications.
I thought I may use Inkscape since it lets me work in metric system (mm) but when I actually tried it I had a strange problem.
I create a line. Set it's height to 3mm and it's width to 1mm but when I change the width height becomes something like 2.853mm. Then I rechange it to 3mm but this time width becomes something like 0.879mm. The question is: Is there a way to lock the width of all the lines to 1mm so that I can work with changing heights?
Thanks very much for this and I'm sorry to tag this *urgent*

Cheers
