Hello,
As a noob to Inkscape I have an annoying problem. Working in Inkscape I like to have some dialogs open. Actually, I want these dialogs to be open always. But everytime I close and restart Inkscape the dialogs are gone.
I tried saving as a default template, like in Illustrator. But still no dialogs after restarting Inkscape.
Can somebody please tell what trick I missed? I'm using versie 046 under XP.
Thx.

Re: Open dialogs on startup
I'm using Ubuntu, so I don't know where to store the template on your machine. But to change the default behaviour of Inkscape at startup:
1. Start Inkscape and configure it the way you want it at startup. You can even set the document's metadata.
2. Save the document as default.svg. On GNU/Linux save it in ~/.inkscape/templates
3. Next time you start Inkscape, it should have the new default.
As I said, I don't where this is on your machine but try searching the disk for a folder called "Inkscape" and if it has a templates sub-folder, you're golden.

Re: Open dialogs on startup
thanks, but tried that as i would have done this in illustrator. probably a bug under xp.
Re: Open dialogs on startup
Inkscape does not work the same way as Illustrator. All dialogs get reset when restarting a new session of Inkscape. Sorry.
