I can save svg as .ai format in linux version but can not find the same option in my windows version(they are both 0.45), am I missing something?
Thanks,
Sun
Why can't I find the .AI format in save list in windows?

No, I don't think so. The ability to save as AI requires pstoedit - a common tool on linux. I believe Inkscape actually saves the file as PS then calls pstoedit to convert it to AI. You can get pstoedit for Windows but I'm not sure if it will add AI to the list of files Inkscape can save as. If not, you can always save as PS and manually use pstoedit to convert it to AI.

Hi , ...
Thanks for the quick and clear answer. I would go fetch pstoedit, manually converting it to .ai is ok for me, 'cause I only have two simple file to convert and it is sort of one shot task. Thanks again.
