Again I am facing a very frustrating matter: I cannot draw a simple circle.
After clicking on the "Create circles,ellipses, and arcs" symbol on the "Toolbox" icon, I only see, after
drawing the outline, just a rectangle and on the right and top side a small square handle and on the left side
of that square, a little circle handle.
Whatever I try fiddling around using for instance the "Fill and Stroke", I cannot manage to draw a simple circle or ellips with a certain line thickness.
What is this with Inkscape that a healthy "intuitive user feeling" is not sufficient to get things going .

You may not only to set the stroke and the fill. Perhaps you have to set the opacity.

- Paid attention to what it says at the bottom bar.

mmm... Ok ... perhaps it's not so easy. I remember at the beginning of my user experience. I was always consulting tutorials, many things were frustrating. But a lot of things have improved since them, believe.

Thought I had to give up inkscape and stick to Serif's DrawPlus, but your
responses gave me hope .
