[solved] How to run perl scripts

Postby alvinpenner » Tue Dec 18, 2007 11:10 pm

I just upgraded from 0.45.1 to 0.46dev, a precompiled Windows version, built Dec 18.
I would like to run/write Perl scripts with it.
I can see how to run Python scripts from 'View/Scripts' and also from the 'Effects' menu.
Can I run Perl scripts from the 'Effects' menu?

Well, it won't work like that with most clients. While the network name thing (instead of a specific server) is alright (if you have a server group with that name), the fragment thing (#bla) instead of a "file" (=channel) usually won't work.

The syntax I used works with every client and it also works if you don't have any FreeNode servers in your server list.

I take it back, I'll develop a python script instead, since that is clearly the desired development path.
