[solved] text on circle placed well

Postby geon » Sat Jun 07, 2008 5:45 am

I want to get something like this http://www.geon.wz.cz/sharing/wanted.svg.
But on the first attempt (after placing text on curve) I get this http://www.geon.wz.cz/sharing/unwanted.svg and then have to try hard to turn it around to the right position. Is there any trick how to achieve this precisely and immediately?

Thank you.

Before puting the text on the circle, rotate the circle so the node shaped like a circle is at the bottom (your text starts relative to this node) and centre align your text. Then put the text on the path.

I might understand what you mean but still - its quite complicated. When I rotate the circle to have the node shaped like a circle at the bottom I cant see this node - so I have to guess its position and many times to switch between "rotation" mode and "node visibility" mode.

When you create a circle, the circle-node should be at 3 o'clock. Just rotate it exactly 90 degrees. (under the object menu, or hold down Ctrl and watch the status bar to see how many degrees you've rotated it).

Now is everything clear. Anyway it could be done somehow more simple. I think its more usual to need a text at the top of circle at the first attempt. Thank you.
