overlapping rectangles

Postby JustAnotherNoob » Mon Dec 20, 2010 1:14 am

Hi,
I'm trying to overlap two rectangles so that the second one continues the first rectangle but with another color. For that I created those two rectangles and changed the coordinates of the nodes, so that they are identical. However, now there's a transparent line between those rectangles, which disappears when zooming in and gets bigger when zooming out.
Here's a picture of the phenomenon, png:

how can I get rid of this transparent/white line?

You can avoid this error (a typical thing for simple antialiasing) if you export the graphic at a higher resolution (2 times or even more) and scale it down again. It basically has the same effect as multisampling, reducing this problem significantly. Another way is it to put another object under the border. But take care that it does not share the same edges (not the connecting one), since it would effect the antialiasing of the other sides.

It is a known renderring bug.

The simple solution is to actually overlap the shapes by a fraction, rather than being on top of each other.
