It's exciting because it's very easy to create a forum but not so easy to create a community to keep it alive. So I want to give a huge thank you to everyone who has participated on this forum and turned it into a success
I'm a sucker for graphs and stats , so I wanted to share a few that may (or may not) be of interest. (I'm sorry to say these graphs weren't created with Inkscape ) For clarity, "topics" refer to new topics, "replies" refers to replies to topics, and "posts" is the combination of both topics and replies.
First up, we have 980 topics, 5135 posts and 617 users. On average that is 2.67 topics, 14.04 posts and 1.69 new users per day.
I think these graphs are pretty self explanatory. The initial spike at the very beginning of this forums life really show how much demand there was. I like to think the steady climb in activity, especially after December, is a sign that Inkscape itself is becoming more popular.
This graph is a little confusing. It's a snapshot of when registered users last visited this site. So it's safe to assume that the left side of the graph shows the rate that registered users have abandoned the forum (about 20 a month). It's difficult to make the same assumption for the right side of the graph as this period may change significantly over time (i.e. users from these periods may still return). We can say that last month, 111 users were active on the forum.
Strangely, 234 users have registered and never posted a single thing Don't be shy guys Of those who do post I think a healthy proportion are making good use of the forum.
I really like this one. Out of over 918 topics, only 60 were never replied to. And a proportion of these topics weren't posted to ask for help, rather just provide information for people to refer to. So I like to think that when someone asks a question here, there's a very good chance you are going to get some sort of assistance.
Despite not having to register, only 10% of posts are by anonymous users. I personally hate forums that force me register and I think this graph proves you don't need those sorts of restrictions to attract a healthy community.

The flat-line in December was a result of me forgetting to put the tracking code back into the template . Going from around 1000 visits to around 3000 visits a month I think is really great.

Of the referring sites, Inkscape.org provides two thirds of all referrals to this forum. Since this isn't an "official" Inkscape site, I really appreciate their support by linking to it.
