Text opacity

Postby ZeroPointThree » Mon Nov 04, 2013 11:06 pm

I encountered a problem with text opacity.

When I set opacity for a text element, transparency of the text is different in Inkscape when the text has a stroke to when the text does not have a stroke, this only happens when I use opacity. Using fill-opacity or using opacity on a non-text element, it works as expected.

I made the following example where you can see the effect when it's opened in Inkscape:

I could not find anything in the SVG specification indicating opacity and text-opacity should work different.
Is there a reason opacity works differently to fill-opacity on text or is this a bug?

Adding a stroke to the text itself had other rendering issues as well.
Opened with Inkscape 0.48+devel r12742 no problem shows up, so that issue got fixed in the development builds.

Thank you for your answer.
Just tried Inkscape 0.48 r12742 on Windows 8 and it indeed seems to be fixed in the development builds.
