Hello,
I am new to Inkscape and have a question. I would like to create a hand drawn frame for an image(which I will add with GIMP). I have attached the frame I created. However, I need the space between the two borders of the frame to be filled with white(but not the inside where the picture will be going!). It looks white right now but is actually transparent. WHen I use the frame in GIMP as it is right now, the actual image is shining through underneath the borders. So I just want t fill the space between the two borders with white color...
Thank you for your help!

What you would do is select both rectangles, and then do Path > Difference. That will "cut" the object on top from the object on the bottom.
Those boolean operations, as they are called, are pretty darn handy: http://tavmjong.free.fr/INKSCAPE/MANUAL/html/Paths-Combining.html

Thank you, I got it! I am finding these boolean operations a bit difficult to understand though...
