"Expand" equivalent?

Postby Micklest » Fri Dec 30, 2016 2:56 am

I want to convert a pattern-filled object so that it translates according to Shutterstock's vector requirements. They are aware of Inkscape but mostly issue guidelines according to Illustrator. They want contributors to "expand" pattern-filled objects. Is there an equivalent for Inkscape?

Expanding in Illustrator is mostly for filter effects.

I'd say, convert Strokes to Paths. Same with LPE's. Also unlink clones and you are good to go.

I'll give it a try. If it doesn't work, it doesn't work! :)

After re-reading your first post,im unsure what exactly you mean with pattern-fill. If we are talking about a pattern as in Pattern Fill of the Fill & Stroke dialogue, then its probably not going to work.

You should convert that pattern into a path and use clipping or perhaps even an Intersection (boolean operation) to get a pure svg only made of paths.
