Hi everyone,

If been using Inkscape from time to time, but I'm not a very experienced user. I don't know if this is a bug or not, if so, let me know so I can post it on Launchpad.

I'm using Inkscape 0.46 on Mac OSX. Yesterday I'v created an SVG, without any problem. I saved it, today, when I try to open it, it says (in german, maybe in englisch the message is different) "faild to load file...".

I found people having similar issues with corssplattform/software/etc. SVGs but this one I created in Inkscape itselfe on my machine only. I'm not into programming, but as I found out, there must be some problem with xml-coding, I guess...

If someone could help me, tell me how I fucked up the file and/or how I can fix it.

Do you see the weird characters on the left and right of qw? Remove them (using a text editor, a nice one with line numbers will help, look for line 759 it's near the end) save the file and open it in Inkscape. What did you enter there?

aaaaaah... relief! Thank you prkos! That worked out!

I don't quite remember what I entered there, since I was looking for the "@" sign and tried randomly a number of key combinations. It seems that in my Inkskape the "at" is inexistent (at least not at the usual place), and my random key combinations somehow fucked up the code...

Now I deleted the weired characters (which didn't even show up in the editor, not even as blank spaces...) and everything is fine now.

phuuu... That graphic is quite important, happy to have it back.

I'm glad it got sorted.

I can type @ as usual in Inkscape, maybe it has something to do with Alt (I use Alt to get to the @).

Look in Inkscape FAQ there is an entry there about using Alt when your window manager overrides it. I found the simplest thing was to use Super key for windows movement so Alt remains free and behaves normally in Inkscape.

ah, I see I'm using the ALT too... I'm trying to get it fixed. But I don't really get the FAQ solution... we'll see.

Hi everyone, I am new to this forum and I am one of Inkscape user. I use Inkscape with my MAC book. Now I am also having the similar problem of stubi. I am also unable to load the svg. plz give me some suggestion, so I can load the svg in my mac book.

What happens when you try to open the file in Inkscape? Can you open Inkscape and make a new drawing? Do you get any error messages?
