fill bounded area leaves weird shadow over drawing

Hi everybody,

I was hoping someone could help me out. I'm fairly new to inkscape and I'm have a problem using the fill bounded area function. When I try filling an area, in addition to filling the bounded area with the selected color the application also adds this huge shadow for some reason. I can seem to figure out why. Please forgive me if this issues has been discussed in a previous post. I've attached the .svg file to this post in case any one would like to take a look.

The 'shadow' is the object's stroke. Open the Fill and Stroke dialog, and in its third tab, set the stroke width to something reasonable. Also, remove the stroke on the object in the second tab (click on X).

Btw. perhaps you'd like to learn more about vector drawing? The bucket tool is not the best way to fill shapes. Vector objects have a fill and stroke already, which you can use. See for example, the tutorial that comes with Inkscape: Help -> Tutorials -> Basic.
