I've created an image in Inkscape with an A8 canvas size which I intend to print to a file and have fill up an entire A4 page with a grid of these small images. The problem I'm having is that regardless of the number of images I attempt to place in a single page, I only ever get a single image in reality.
I have tried it with a SVG files in Inkscape, a PDF file in Foxit Reader, Evince and Adobe Reader, and a PNG in Image Viewer, and the result is always the same, which leads me to believe the problem is with my printing setup. I then tried it with another PDF file I acquire from the internet, and it worked perfectly, so I think the problem may be in the file itself. I've tried it in Ubuntu 10.04 and Windows XP SP3.
Does anyone here any any experience with this sort of thing?
Problems printing multiple images per page
Re: Problems printing multiple images per page
Have you tried importing the A8 file into an open blank A4 doc and cloning the group it comes in as just to print with?
Could your workflow accomodate opening your svg in scribus and copying it four times?

Your mind is what you think it is.
Re: Problems printing multiple images per page
Thanks for your reply. I eventually just went ahead and created a grid in Inkscape, but I'm still wondering what it was that was preventing multiple images per page from printing.
