I've just started to use Inkscape and my work is at that point that it would be nice to look at it on some kind of preview mode. I'm looking for something like Presentation mode in InDesign. What alternatives I have to preview my work?
Thank you
Preview mode?
Re: Preview mode?
I'm not familiar with that program. So I can't guess what you need.
What is it that you either want to see or don't want to see, that you don't already see on the canvas? Inkscape has View menu > Display Mode, where there are options for viewing everything except filters, or Outline Mode which only shows the raw paths (no fill colors or filters or etc).
If you're using Inkscape to creating cutting files, then Outline Mode probably functions like a preview.
If you just need to see the image which is zoomed to fit the window, there's a button for that on the Zoom tool control bar. Or I guess you could export a PNG, and look at it with an image viewer on your system.
If you're using Inkscape to make icons, there's View menu > Icon Preview, which shows you the image at various common icon sizes.
Beyond those things, I don't think Inkscape has what you need.

Re: Preview mode?
If I remembe correctly, all InDesign's presentation mode does is show the image free of the interface. You can't strip Inkscape bare like that that I know. You could use inkview, (in Inkscapes program folder,) to open in a new window.

Also, fyi, there is no print review, and that's something many people have requested. I would love a print review. but I finding zooming to 100% is the next best thing.
Re: Preview mode?
You can, Inkscape comes with a viewer program called Inkview. It's not... great (in my view), but it displays images like Inkscape would.

Re: Preview mode?
Inkscape is a WYSIWYG editor. What you see is also the preview mode.
As for a print preview, monitors have lower resolutions than printers. That means what you see on screen will not be what is printed, ever.
