Is there an inverted equivalent of "Clip"?
A clipping object keeps everything visible that is under the object, and makes invisible what's not under the object. Can you do the inverse? This means keeping everything that is not under the clipping object visible, and making invisible everything that is under the clipping object.

Hello TavernSenses! Welcome to the forum!
These needs to come up sometimes, when you want to make a hole in your drawing for example. But there isn't an easy way to just select Invert. You have to create an object that covers the area you want to keep.
Usually you first create the object shape you want to cut out, then create a large object covering the entire drawing, and use Path operations to cut the hole in the large object using the small one (Exclusion). Then use the resulting object as the clipping path.

The LPE exists in the development version, yes. It's even available from the menu (Object -> Clip -> Set inverse
