Please share a file using link to dropbox or google etc. (upload dxf is not allowed here)

Then we can get a better idea...
Have a nice day.

I'm using Inkscape 0.92.2 (5c3e80d, 2017-08-06), 64 bit win8.1

The Inkscape manual has lots of helpful info! http://tavmjong.free.fr/INKSCAPE/MANUAL/html/

Would zipping allow the DXF? I'm not sure, just asking :D

How are you trying to open/import the DXF? Right-click from file manager, open Inkscape then use Open dialog (File menu > Open), open Inkscape then use File menu > Import, or other way?

Edit
Actually, I'm not sure if Inkscape can open a DXF file. Import probably, but I'm not sure how much editing would be possible. This is all the info I have about file formats: https://inkscape.org/en/learn/faq/?edit ... ort/export? and

Oh ok, here we go, from the manual:
".dxf (AutoCAD) Imported via internal script. The import is geared for AutoCAD release 13 and newer files (use QCad to update older files). Note that the imported objects may be very small, use 4 to zoom in on them."

(Yikes, I didn't mean to, but looks like I managed to make the whole quote into a link  )
