Using Inkscape on 4k monitor

Postby asha » Thu Jan 12, 2017 10:28 am

Hi,

I'm trying to optimise Inkscape to run on a 4k monitor. I know Inkscape is not really ready for this yet, but I'm trying to make it as usable as possible. I've found this recommendation online (https://sourceforge.net/p/inkscape/mail ... /33138551/):
"To use the high-dpi theme:
- delete inkscape\share\themes\MS-Windows\gtk-2.0\gtkrc
- rename inkscape\share\themes\MS-Windows\gtk-2.0\gtkrc-hidpi to gtkrc"

My problem is the only file in gtk-2.0 I have is gtkrc and there is no gtkrc-hidpi file. Can I ask for some pointers? So far all I've done is change icons to "larger" but there are still a number of issues which make the program harder to use. I'd be grateful for any help/advice.

Inkscape 0.92
Windows 10
Also, bear in mind I'm a beginner to all of this pls :)

Cheers

I think this is something that needs to be solved on the code level.

It's in the works, with moving to GTK3, as far as I understand the issue. If you compile Inkscape with GTK3 option (or if you compile Inkscape trunk), you'll get that what is already there, and can help improve it for your screen size.
