shouldn't the first row of trees be the lightest?
I think it gives the effect of the space craft shining light onto the ground inside the forest (you know, like just before someone is beamed up?)...so that the light is in front of some trees and behind others. At least that's how it looks to me. In any case, I really like the trees!

Really net idea and great graphics. Consider breaking the symmetry more on the 3 largest stars. My eyes get stuck moving around in that triangle instead of moving around the rest of the really nice image.
