hi im new to inkskape just would like to ask a few questions can i nkskape make this http://img827.imageshack.us/f/pic001z.png/ i want to be able to make this but it has be be W=100 BY H=20 im trying to make buttons and other programs dont really give a clean inside of cylinder shape appears to have 3 sides and i need to save as a png

and cane i set the default to be like a 600 by 600 canvas every time i open inkskape and set it to open in the same window thanks

Yes, it's very simple actually, turn the grid on (#) so you can control the size of objects with precision, create several rectangles, round their corners (hold Ctrl), center rectangles one over the other and make sure each snaps to the grid, style them with gradients, export to bitmap (PNG).

You can change the file default.svg in your Inkscape installation folder to some other size using Document Properties to make the canvas the size you want.

To make the window the same size there is a setting in Inkscape preferences where you can adjust the window geometry,

thanks i wanted to be sure before getting in to deep yeah like always starting it starts with little screen and would like to get it set-up like paint.net as coming from it to this is confusing i can make buttons in paint.net of exactly the size i need but they always look bubbled because of the gradiate and if i do manualy they are not as good as the plugin but plugin is limited to the bubble type here is pic of bubble type thats why imtrying out inkskape to see if button making is easier the buttons have to be a certain size plus the radiuses good as they are going to be Incorporated into a skin for windows thanks
