I created a logo in Inkscape 0.46 on a windows vista system and I am trying to open the same file on a Linux system that also has 0.46 on it. The file opens and everything is there but the lay out is screwed up. I had the same problem with an older version of inkscape on the Linux box, so upgrade which did not solve anything. Is there anyway to export the file with out losing placement and settings?
Thanks!

Re: Cross platform
This is curious--it shouldn't matter what platform you open that file on. Can you provide an example of how it changes?
A possible work-around is to save the SVG as Plain SVG--this strips out all Inkscape specific information but the image will look the same. But you really shouldn't need to do this--especially when opening the file in the same version of Inkscape (regardless of platform).

Re: Cross platform
I think Inkscape part is the same on all platforms, but other parts may differ, like gtk for example.
Does this happen with all the files? Can you create a simple svg with 2 objects and test it? If it's different on different platforms please file a bug so developers can look into it.

Re: Cross platform
Check here, this is an export PNG from inkscape. The logo Providecom, with the yellow background and blue circle is what was done in inkscape that is effected now.

Re: Cross platform
Looks like some missing fonts on the Linux side.
Install the used fonts for the logo also in your Linux system or convert the text to a path on the windows side.

Re: Cross platform
That's what I thought at first but the tahoma font is in the drop down list... I'll try again.
