As I read the thread I concluded that the plugin has some problems with the realeased version of Inkscape that I downloaded.

I may be mistaken?

Will this plugin also make a mirror image?

What version of Inkscape are you using? I'm using a prerelease of 0.47 and it works great! Have you tried it yet?

As for negatives, do you mean converting in image to negatives? If so there is an Extension/Effect for that
