Update SVN page

Postby SebastianZ1983 » Wed May 08, 2013 5:41 pm

The Inkscape SVN page is totally outdated, because it still links to the SourceForge repo

Also there doesn't seem to be an obvious link to this page. I just got there via Google.
So could somebody please update that page and link to the Launchpad repo and add a more prominent link to it? (Or simply remove the page?)

Update roadmap page

The roadmap wiki page is completely outdated. So either it should be updated or removed and the link to it changed to the Launchpad timeline.

Yes, the development team is notoriously slow about keeping the Inkscape site up to date, including the wiki. But as far as the Roadmap page, at least they have been updating it, by crossing out the completed items. The last time I looked at it, there were far fewer items crossed through.

I think most of us are happy enough to have Inkscape. But if a qualified person were to volunteer to keep things more up to date, they probably would set them up with the proper credentials. Actually, up until a year or 2 ago (or 3) anyone could update the wiki pages. But I guess it got too hard to keep the spam deleted. So now it's restricted.....if I recall correctly.

I'm also one of the happy users of Inkscape. :)
Though I would like to get to know about the new features the new versions provide and what's coming next.

I'm member of the Firebug Working Group and responsible for keeping the release notes and the roadmap for it up-to-date.
Therefore I know that it's not that much effort, but of course somebody needs to take care of it.

Often dev news is announced and/or discussed on the Google+ page. Link in my sig. I've often wondered why the wiki isn't kept more up to date myself. The answer when I asked, a couple years ago -- devs are just so busy. Image
