Perpective Not Working with .46

Postby dgsarnow » Thu May 08, 2008 8:24 pm

I have two machines that I am running Inkscape .46 on. One is an Ubuntu and the other Microsoft Vista. I cannot get perspective to work on either. When I execute the perspective command, the perspective object disappears and I am left with the path I was trying to alter. Is anyone else having the same problem or have solution?

Cheers,

Dave

Have you checked if the frame you are using for the perspective is on top of the object, and make sure you are selecting the perspective frame first then the object (i think if not make sure your selecting the object then the frame lol) as from my experiance it makes a difference which one you select first.

be sure to convert object to path before :tool_node:
In Inkscape 0.46 select first object (path) :tool_node: then the perspective frame :tool_pen: (spanish version)

it works with a group of paths. If you understand a bit of spanish try this:

I run 0.46 on Ubuntu Hardy and XP. Perspective will not work with either. I have all dependencies satisfied in Ubuntu. If I click the perspective box first then the path I want, the path will remain the same, but the perspective box will go into the path I wanted to transform and be mangled. If I click the path I want to transform first, the path will simply disappear and the perspective box will be there unchanged. Anybody know what gives?

I don't mean to give this a bump, but I am really trying to get perspective working and so far the suggestions in this thread haven't gotten it working. Though, I do appreciate your generous assistance everybody! :D

Did you convert the object you want to transform into a path first?

Are you able to upload your image so we can take a look?

I had to select the shape to be transformed and then the perspective frame in order to get perspective to work correctly in OS X 10.5.2 with Inkscape .46 which is the opposite order of what I've seen a few others say. Try that, and as others have said make sure you've converted everything to paths and that the shape(s) to be given a perspective should be combined if you want it to be applied to multiple shapes at once.
