Is it possible to set up filling sessions within a Path?

Postby tidus_chan » Wed Oct 23, 2013 12:21 am

Dear all,

recently I am trying to reproduce and modify a certain figure, shown below, in Inkscape. Problem is, if I draw the Electrocardiogram (ECG, or EKG) at the bottom right using :tool_pen: , chances are I can only fill the entire Path with one single flat colour, rather than doing different colours in different 'session' of the Path. Not sure how to do it. Thinking of using 'Mask'. But still getting used to it.

Any ideas?

best regards,
Tidus

Hello:
Your idea of clipping the path (not masking) seems a very good idea, check here:
http://tavmjong.free.fr/INKSCAPE/MANUAL/html/Clip.html
You can clip over a group of paths too.
As usual, there are more ways to do that: Cutting the path in subptahs, using gradients, etc.
If you have problems:
1.- Post a sample (or samples) of your file please.
2.- Please check here:
http://tavmjong.free.fr/INKSCAPE/MANUAL/html/index.html
3.- If you manage to solve your problem, please post here your solution.

Thanks for your help.

Right now it works perfectly!
