I am in trouble (Inkscape on MacOS issues)
I am trying to help my high schooler with his digital image class . The class is using Inkscape. We are using Inkscape on mac, the latest release. At first all was working good. Than something happen- I don't know if some setting was change or .... We can select tools but nothing happen when trying to use them on the canvas. No amount of mouse clicking helps. Nothing works on the canvas , no magnifier, selector , pen etc... I should add that I try using my wacom tablet with the inkscape but that was a couple days ago. the tablet is disconnected at this point. Please help

When you enable a tool, let's say Pen or Rectangle tool, please tell us exactly what "nothing works" means.
For example, when you press the mouse button and drag, do you see the bounding box growing as you drag? The bounding box is the dashed line rectangle. If you see that, but you don't see a path or a rectangle, it's likely that the path or rectangle is transparent. This tutorial will help, if unexpected transparency is the problem: https://forum.inkscapecommunity.com/ind ... article=18
If you don't see the bounding box at all, it's possible you're on a locked layer. There's a layer indicator in the status bar, just to the left of center, along the bottom of the window. The tiny lock icon will appear to be closed, if the layer is locked.
And finally, here is a bunch of info about using Inkscape on a Mac: https://inkscape.org/en/learn/faq/#mac- ... fic-issues It might be helpful to read through that, even if you've already solved the problem. Just for future reference.

We've just had a similar issue in the Inkscape answers section, and today, the user was able to solve the problem:
