Too Many Panels/Windows when I open a Document

Postby BrianDP » Mon Jul 24, 2017 1:34 am

When I open, or start a new Inkscape document, I get 9 or 10 floating panels, or windows, that talk about Text, and aligning objects, and all sorts of controlling. My screen is somewhat small, and I'd really rather have that room taken up for drawing! I can open these windows if I need to.

You might have been able to tell, I'm VERY new to inkscape. I love it though! I've already created several small pieces that I've been able to use for my Vinyl Cutter, on my web site, and in Virtual Pinball Games.

Thanks!

Menu: Edit>Preferences>Interface>Windows

I would set the Saving Dialogs Status to: Save and Restore Dialog Status.
I would also set the Dialog Behavior: Dockable.

Inkscape will need to be restarted (dialogs will open again)... thereafter, dialogs that are closed should remain closed after quitting and restarting.
Have a nice day.

I'm using Inkscape 0.92.2 (5c3e80d, 2017-08-06), 64 bit win8.1

The Inkscape manual has lots of helpful info! http://tavmjong.free.fr/INKSCAPE/MANUAL/html/

Holy Cow! I swear I had done that before, but maybe I skipped a step.. But now all my extra floatable docking windows or whatever they are, they're gone! Thanks so much for your help!

Now off to practice with Bezier curves!
