When trying to use the built in triangle in/out or ellipse path effect on a Bezier curve, the weight cannot be edited after creation. When I look at the path effects editor"power stroke" is listed instead of pattern along path. This is only happening on my Windows 8 machine. I have tried installing the previous release and even the portable version,but the result is the same. Any ideas on what could be causing this?

This may be the case.

The new powerstroke implementation uses handles as far as I know;
the older version's pattern along path lpe could be changed to a different weight by the pattern witdh setting in the lpe tab.
