I need to crop a complex object so that only part of it is visible. How can I do this? I tried convert to path and intersection but it doesn't work with the object I made, which is a whole lotta parts put together.
Anyway to do this?
[solved] Cropping an object
Re: Cropping an object
There still may be several ways to accomplish what you want, depending on your specific situation. And I'm not knowledgable enough to give you step-by-step instructions. But in general, a Clip or Mask might do it. Or you could break all the relevant paths at the place you want it cropped, then delete the unwanted parts.

I found a way to do it well enough for my purposes, it involved masking and I had to look it up on the manual I downlaoded one piece at a time and assembled as a pdf, with a friend's help.

A clip would be more suitable than a mask, but both will do the job.
