Postby ondra.sk » Sun Jan 27, 2008 3:37 am

When I make object for example square or circle and want fill it with bitmap, how can I do it? If I use "fill and stroke" menu so there are filling with pattern only. When I use it, object is filled only with some parts of pattern. Is another methods how to fill an object?

You go to:
1.File>Import you image texture
2.With image selected Object>Pattern>Objects to Pattern
3.Delete the reference image

Now you have your desired image as a reusable pattern.

This video by heathenx should clear it up for you.

Thank you for your advice. But If I used it the object was filled but the bitmap filled it only like some part. After double click on the filled object a tool for rotating and resizing appeared. Is any other possibility how to set a features of the pattern?

When you have a pattern you click on it with the :tool_node: and what show ups is what is depicted in this thread the second to last response.

And also here in the inskcape manual
