Hi all

I used to work with Adobe Illustator to prepare simple text t-shirt designs, that were than cut out on a cutter. Since the guy operating the cutter works with Corel Draw, I was always sending him PDF-s, created with illustrator (Just simple text, type converted to outlines, thats it) and everything worked fine, but if I do the same with Inkscape, using convert text to outlines on pdf export, he cant open the file...ok, he can open it, but it isnt ok for the cutter...it looks grouped or something.

Can anyone help me

The development version of Inkscape has some big improvements when exporting to pdf than 0.46. Although as far I know there is a bug when exporting text to curves, if you want text to be curves it's better to convert it in your drawing prior to export and not in the export dialogue.

The dev version also has the ability to create dxf files that can directly be used on cutters, you might want to try it

Can his Corel version open SVG?

But...I couldnt find the option for convert to curves before saving...whre is that in Inkscape.

It's under Path > Object to Path.

perhaps try importing the svg into scribus, then exporting the pdf from scribus. I've found the scribus pdf export to be superior to the inkscape cairo export
