"These"? Do you mean AI or others? Which others? There are numerous topics about opening AI files already posted and answered. Please start here: viewtopic.php?f=5&t=820. If that doesn't solve your problem, try searching the forums. But be sure and post a reply if you are able to isolate the problem and need more info

Oh also, inkscape is running on my Mac OSX 10.6
