Can you do this?

Postby Henry432 » Fri Oct 17, 2014 5:52 am

Is it possible to select objects with the same color only? I'm doing pixel art and I want to add each color to its own layer and selecting each and every piece of the same color is tedious and extremely time consuming. Is there some genius that can help me?

Hi

This is possible if you are using the later development versions.
Select one object with the stroke/fill color you want, use the edit dropdown menu - select edit - select same.

I don't see this feature. I have inkscape version 0.48.

Other workaround:

Open the xml editor (Shift+Ctrl+X), select the fill attribute in the style field, like "color:#000000", copy it, then
open the search tab (Ctrl+F), paste in the style field the copied part and find all the objects with that fill at once.
There are other settings as well if you don't need to select every object.
