Hi!
I'm sorry if this have come already and I missed it.
I made a drawing in version "0.48.2 r9819" and since it's slow to export when using filters I downloaded "0.48+devel r12062" and opened the same .svg and got this result . As you can see an text object is missing. I'm attaching the .svg if someone wants to check it out.

Re: Objects missing open in 0.48+devel r12062
Welcome to InkscapeForum!
I have to admit that I'm not sure how one would know exactly which dev version to get. Even though they are called "nightly" I'm not sure if they realistically happen every night. Some are fairly stable, and others are frought with "issues". Because after all, it is the version that developers use to "work out the kinks".
Anyway, you have to expect problems when using a development version. Maybe someone else can explain which version you should use, if you feel like you want to use a dev version.
I did try exporting from my 0.48.4 version, and assuming you meant export to PNG, everything works perfectly.
If you want to investigate further, you could search the bug tracker at Launchpad (https://launchpad.net/inkscape)

Download 048.4 and use it to view and export this file, and don't use flowed text anymore as this appears to have no future in SVG (although I could have misunderstood this)
If you do use flowed text after you have finished positioning it use the convert to text command to avoid these problems!
This forum is not allowing me to upload your repaired svg file, so here it is in code form. Paste it into a text editor and save as .txt and then change it to svg afterwards.
edit: so it let me upload it as a zip!
