16x16 Icon
16x16 Icon
I've designed a 16x16 icon using Inkscape and would like to find a way to export it without the blur. It's a simple black with yellow stroke ellipse, and three letters in the middle. The letters are what blur the most, but the stroke looks terrible as well. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Re: 16x16 Icon
I think your best bet for getting rid of the blur would be to increase your image size. 16x16 isn't a whole lot of room to fit stuff on, and it's probably that size more than anything that is causing the blurr in your letters and such. With how your .svg is that's 16x16 including blank space around the elipse, which means that the elipse and letters are trying to cram into even smaller than 16x16. You might want to think about eliminating the extra blank space and resize the page to fit snugly to the elipse.
I would also turn off the blur on the elipse. When I loaded up the file it's blur was set to .9.
The text I would convert to a path rather than keeping as text. I don't know if others have run into the same thing, but that has caused me problems with exporting nice images before.

Re: 16x16 Icon
Note also that 16X16 is very limiting. Have a look at some of these tutorials: http://inkscapetutorials.wordpress.com/category/icons/
esspecially this one: http://mso-chronicles.blogspot.com/2008 ... icons.html
although inkscape is a vector program, for icon work at 16X16, it is almost easier to work in a bitmap way. Turn on the grid (pixel sized) preview the icon in the icon preview and keep it simple.
Hope this will help!

It's not the size it's the antialiasing, you need to suppress it http://wiki.inkscape.org/wiki/index.php ... liasing.3F
