Loads Slow
It's no big deal but I was just wondering, is it normal for inkscape to take a while to open or is it my computer?

Opening a new blank page (by double-clicking the desktop icon) probably takes 15 to 20 sec for me. Opening a large file, around 5 or 6 mb (by double-clicking the file in the file manager) could take up to 30 sec. I do have a lot of fonts.....let's see.....~300. That's with 4 gb RAM on Windows. I have the impression that Inkscape opens much faster on Linux type of os, but don't really know for sure.

I'm on an older Toshiba running windows xp. Inkscape takes around 25 seconds to loads, and yes once I close it then open again, it loads immediately. I guess that's not too bad considering firefox takes around 40 sec or more to load. Thanks for the replies.
