There are times when I would appreciate the ability to customize the toolbars. Many applications allow for a user to add/remove toolbar icons just under the menu bar. Inkscape's lack of flexibility in that area could be greatly improved.
I often find myself using "Paste In Place (Ctrl+Alt+V)". An icon added to the toolbar would scratch an itch I've long had while using this important software.

Re: Customizable Toolbars
It's on radar, but won't happen just now. Everything needs a dedicated developer

Woot! Thank you, sir! Good to hear.
Re: Customizable Toolbars
Hey could you give a time frame about this and also I was wondering if some think like the 'Tool Matrix' in Draftsight's can be included too , here is a link of what I mean http://cad.cad2design.com/draftsight/vi ... ool+Matrix
the reason i would like something like that along with the toolbar customization is because I have a laptop with resolution 1366 x 768
so my screen height is limited and removing two tool bars completely and only having the File Edit....etc menus would be great.

Hi Yepi,
Well, "on the radar" and "needs a dedicated developer" pretty much tells the story. There is no time frame until someone steps up to write it into the program. Because Inkscape is open source, often features are developed according to developers' interests' rather than general users' needs/desires. As a free program, I find it hard to complain about. And I would actually be inspired to join the dev team, if I had any coding skills.
Anyway, if you go to this page: http://wiki.inkscape.org/wiki/index.php/Roadmap you can get some idea of future plans. I have not read it in detail, but I think most of it does not have a time frame.
On the bright side for you though View menu > Show/Hide allows you to hide any or all toolbars!
Will that work for you ?

As an interim solution, you can try View menu > Wide, and View > Fullscreen (or press F11). This doesn't move everything out of the way, but it does save some vertical screen space.
