Open Cutout

Postby Cryptman » Sat Apr 02, 2011 4:46 am

Wasn't sure what to use for a search string for this question.

Let's say I have an object that I want to remove a section like a cutout, but then leave the gap completely open.

Example;

Before

After

Likely an easy answer, thanks.

Highlight both objects

Do Path > Cut Path (or Ctrl+Alt+/)

Be advised that when you fill the path it'll still try to join the gap, like in the attachment:

Doesn't seem to be working, I must be missing something. I tried on a new document with two ellipses. Highlighted both, and chose Cut Path, but it seems to only remove one of the ellipses.

I figured it out. I wasn't on the path edit tool.
